The Year 3s and 4s enjoyed an afternoon with the VR headsets as part of their humanities learning. Using these, they were able to see what the Acropolis in Athens looks like today and what an Ancient Greek chariot looked like. Afterwards, they explored Ancient Olympia. They were able to move around to look at Zeus’ Temple, a hippodrome, an Olympic stadium and a place where Olympic warriors trained.
Through this, they learned about the Ancient Olympics. They discussed some of the events that took place and how these were similar/different to the modern-day Olympics. All the children loved the experience and being able to see what different aspects of Ancient Greece and the Ancient Olympics would have looked like.
