On Monday 14th and Tuesday 15th September, Year 3 and 4 attended a History Detectives Workshop, held in our school, run by Creative Learning Services. The workshop was relevant for all budding young historians because it was all about how we use primary sources to understand the past. Activities included placing artefacts in order on a timeline, identifying artefacts, mapping archaeological finds and using a mini metal detector to find buried metal objects. The children all really enjoyed the session, not least because they got to hold real historical artefacts and dress up in medieval clothes.
