Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

At Farndon Fields Primary School we are committed to equal opportunities for all our pupils. We use our best endeavours to remove barriers to learning and provide an appropriate and high-quality education for all children which enables them to:

·         Achieve their best

·         Become confident individuals living fulfilling lives

·         Make successful transition to their next phase of education

We have the highest aspirations and expectations for all pupils, including those with SEND.

Our aim to foster a community where parents and those working in school have a mutual trust and confidence in each other, created through clear, consistent approaches to communication and collaborative working, to enable outstanding outcomes for children with SEND.

We strive to provide all children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, with a broad, balanced academic and social curriculum, which is accessible and ensures they are fully included in all aspects of school life and feel equally valued and fully part of the school community.

To find out more about how we support pupils with SEND at Farndon Fields Primary School (the Farndon Fields Primary School SEND Local Offer) please read the school SEND Information report and SEND policy. There are also links to the Leicestershire County Council SEND offer and other useful resources.

If you are concerned about your child, please do not hesitate to contact the class teacher in the first instance, who will be happy to discuss your child’s progress and ways you can support your child’s learning at home.

If you have specific questions or need further advice please do not hesitate to contact Ms Simone Harrison, the school’s Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENDCo) on 01858464744 or office@dsatfarndonfields.org
